Elvis Presley was a famous singer known across the world. Elvis was inducted into five different music hall of fame genres. The five are Rock ‘n’ Roll, Country, Gospel, Rockabilly, and R&B. Elvis was also known as the greatest Rock ‘n’ Roll singer in the world. Elvis Presley was born January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi and died August 16, 1977 in Memphis, Tennessee. He grew up dirt poor and did not live a wealthy life until his audition got picked up. That's when his life changed for the better. The movie Elvis is a documentary about Elvis Presley’s life growing up and his Hollywood life. The film is told from the point of view of his manager Colonel Tom Parker. This movie stars a lot of famous actors. For example, the main character Elvis is played as Austin Butler, the manager by Tom Hanks, and Steve Binder by Dacre Montgomery. Not only does this movie have a fantastic cast, but it also has a fantastic plot. The way Butler portrays Elvis makes the character feel almost real. The movie is rated 4.5 stars on Rotten Tomatoes with a 78% Tomatometer and a 94% audience score. A lot of people went to watch the movie because of Elvis himself and his influence on not just Rock ‘n’ Roll, but also music in general, He was an inspiration for people, especially the music industry. However, there are also mixed feelings about the movie's making accusations on how Elvis lived his life. Some critics claim that in some parts of the movie are lying to make the film more interesting. The movie does bring up his bad drug abuse and other things, like his mental health. Elvis was disliked by many because of his inappropriate music and dance moves, and in the movie, they made that a big point. The movie’s main point was about the hate Elvis got while performing, and while most scenes are exaggerated in the movie, it is still based on real events and details Elvis experiences in his life. The reviews of the movie are good, with many reviews praising the movie and how the movie perfectly portrayed Elvis and his life in the music industry. The fanbase from the movie consists of mainly adults over the age of 30 who grew up hearing about Elvis and really wanted to see the movie. Although the movie got a 4.5 review rating, there were quite a lot of reviews saying that the movie was disappointing and didn't live up to the hype. For example, “Horrific. Terrible. Truly off putting. Read all of the other 1 star reviews. I’m too angry to go into detail about how bad this movie truly is. Life is ruined. It was like watching 3 second vine videos for two and a half hours endlessly of Elvis Presley with stupid reels remixing his life. Spare your money and time," said one reviewer. Although there were hundreds of one star reviews, there were thousands of five star reviews to cancel the bad ones out and it seems to fans, the movie could be a hit or miss.
