By: Leslie Lopez According to CNN, Eli Lilly and a company's experimental drug can slow down Alzheimer’s. Their study trial consists of 257 patients with symptoms of early Alzheimer’s. Half of the participants received a placebo while the others received donanimhaber. When the donanimhaber is compared to the placebo it shows that the donanimhaber slowed the cognition and daily function in Alzheimer’s after 76 weeks by 32%. Over 18 months the 32% showed a great impact in Alzheimer’s patients by slowing it down. In the six more months that the patients received from the donanemab they had better memory and the ability to perform daily tasks. According to Maria Carillio phase 2 results are looking great even though it’s early in the trial. The trial has a possibility in slowing and maybe even stopping the progression of Alzheimer’s. When the trial hit 52 weeks it showed that 60% of participants had the levels of a healthy person. After these results the patients were taken off the donanimhaber and placed on the placebo. When cleared from the drugs, the slowing of Alzheimer’s still continued. Carrillo says that this trial is unique because before it started they were focused on both the tau and amyloid beta plaque. The trial is trying to show that if you slow down tau and stop amyloid early in the stage that Alzheimer’s can be slowed down. For the donanimhaber they still need more trials to check if it is a safe and effective enough drug.

According to Fox News, recently, a total of 150 missing kids were recovered during a month-long enforcement operation in Tennessee according to the Tennessee Bureau of investigation. The authorities said the range of the missing children's ages is between 3 and 17. They were recovered during three sweeps across the state. The operation that the children were recovered from was “Operation Volunteer Strong”. The operation was actually a joint effort between TBI, Tennessee department of children’s services and the U.S. Marshals service. Tyreece Miller who’s the U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Tennessee said “Our efforts should also serve to notify those who prey on society’s most vulnerable that these children are not forgotten”. Some of the missing kids were possibly human trafficking victims but at least during a rescue for a child they were able to arrest the kidnapper however another 90 children remain missing. According to TBI director David Rauschenberg hundreds of children still go missing monthly in Tennessee. The rescued children will receive services and may also be placed into group and foster homes, or “other specialized care” according to the authorities. By: Leslie Lopez According to CNN, scientists were able to take a picture of the glow-in-the-dark shark producing its own light. The kitefin shark is the largest bioluminescent vertebrate growing up to nearly six feet. The shark was found in Chatham Rise right off the east coast of New Zealand. Bioluminescence is the production of visible light by living organisms. About 57 out of 540 from the known shark species are believed to be capable of producing light. The kitefin shark is also known as being the slowest swimming shark in the world. This shark is said to be difficult to observe for it lives 200 and 900 meters below the surface. Two other types of sharks are known to have bioluminescent, the Etmopterus lucifer and the Etmopterus granulosus. The sharks were accidentally photographed during an NIWA’s trawling survey. People believe that below 200 meters there is no light but in reality there is some light that the sharks find useful. The sharks use the light to their best of ability and disappear. Them doing this protects the sharks from other predators swimming below them. This also makes it easier for them to go and hunt.
