According to Fox News, a human skull was found near the top of Mount Hood located in Oregon. Analyzing the skull’s DNA showed authorities that it belonged to a young woman. The young woman was named Wanda Ann Herr, who disappeared in the late 1970s and was only 19 years old. The skull was found on August 2, 1986, near the town of Government Camp, by two forestry workers along with bone fragments and a human tooth. The forensic examiner for the Oregon State Police dictated that the skull had been in the woods for 10 years. No new evidence could be found at the time so the case went cold until in 2008 DNA analysis at the University of North Texas found out that the skull had to belong to a female in her early 20s or late teens. Then from there a forensic imaging specialist was able to reconstruct the skull using clay which had helped to find more clues and tips but no solid leads. More research revealed that she was born in 1957 and after detectives interviewed Herr’s surviving sisters, it was determined that she had disappeared some time after June 1976. From the interviews detectives deduced that she was a chronic runaway even though there is no record that Wanda was a runaway or missing, also she had no bank accounts or a DMV record.

According to Fox News, residents in a Pittsburgh area have been complaining about missing mail and when investigated by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania, they found heaps of undelivered mail in the trash. James McLenigan, 29, and Sean Troesch, 48, are being charged with delay and destruction of mail, these are separate criminal complaints. If they are convicted, the two could be facing the maximum term of a fine of $250,000 or going to jail for five years or both. Troesch was spotted taking the mail out of the rear of his vehicle and placing them into trash bags where he proceeded to place them outside his house for disposal. When federal agents responded they went to his house on Sunday to find nine more black trash bags outside his house for disposal before the scheduled Monday garbage pick-up. By: Leslie Lopez According to the New York Times, Israel is the first country to enter a second national lockdown. The number of cases have spiked to around 8,000 each day. The government is losing control and the people's trust in them is decreasing. Many are protesting about the new lockdown laws; gatherings have been limited to 20 people, they need to be 6 feet apart, and they are not allowed to be farther than half a mile from their home. Israelis are demanding Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resign from his position, he is currently standing trial on corruption charges and is the main focus of blame for how the country has been handling the pandemic. The police are being accused of using violence against protesters. Authorities are failing to prevent large gatherings in the ultra-Orthodox community. 40 percent of the people that have been testing positive for covid come from the ultra-Orthodox community. According to Reuters, small businesses are struggling economically during this second lockdown. Restaurant owner Tamir Barelko has opened up a petition to reopen small businesses at the end of the Jewish holidays. His petition has more than 60,000 supporters. The central bank and finance ministry support this idea if only the companies can avoid face-to-face contact and have less than 10 workers. Israel protests began in the beginning of July. Their first lockdown was from mid-March to May and that calmed things down from the virus. That all changed after they started opening up schools and businesses. Only a quarter of Israelis trust in the government's policies to control the virus from spreading even more.
Israel's unemployment rate has tripled since the beginning of the year to above eleven percent. Dun and Bradstreet, a business analytics firm, believe that 80,000-85,000 firms in Israel will go out of business this year. Jonathan Katz, chief economist at leader capital markets, said If they can avoid a third shutdown they would be starting 2021 with a clean slate. ![]() By Lucas Drummond According to The Washington Post, President Donald Trump stated early on Friday that he and his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, both tested positive for the Coronavirus. This could have been a grave situation as the president is 74 years old and obese which is the highest risk category for the virus. They both self quarantined and the president was last publicly seen Thursday afternoon returning to the White House from New Jersey, he didn’t physically appear ill but he didn’t speak with reporters. The First Lady did tweet out on Twitter that she and her husband were “feeling good”. Dr. Sean Conley, the President's physician, said “Rest assured I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering…” The President planned to quarantine himself anyways as the virus had already spread into his inner circle when Hope Hicks tested positive. This isn’t the best situation for the president to be in as he has been known to downplay the virus, with him and his associates not believing in social distancing and masks. This could affect his campaign as it hurts his image and his credibility as well as making him look bad since he looks as if he doesn’t know what he is talking about. The first action the President took was to cancel several events last Friday like a fundraiser in Washington and a campaign rally in Florida, as of now Trump's condition is improving but a lot of it is shrouded in mystery. Cable Anderson is like many other 12 year old boys who enjoys playing with toys or watching Netflix but what sets him apart is that he’s already a sophomore in college majoring in aerospace engineering. He is currently a student at Chattahoochee Technical College in Marietta, Georgia where he will graduate with a bachelor's degree in two years and continue his education at the Georgia Institute of Technology as well as the Massachusetts Institute for Technology, he hopes to one day get an internship working for Elon Musk. Some of the first signs that showed Caleb was gifted was when he was barely 4 weeks old and already mimicking his mother’s speech, Claire Anderson, and at 9 months he was able to sign more than 250 words in American Sign Language. At times however Caleb’s intelligence hindered him from making friends like when his dad, Kobi Anderson, recalled that Caleb got upset at his friends because “they couldn’t communicate without him”, he was 3 years old. While his parents can’t help him out in the usual ways as he has surpassed them in school, they are instead focusing on teaching him about compassion, kindness, and looking for the good in others. Caleb states that he too agrees that college is the best place for him, as “it’s really accepting” he said that people in college might think of something but they won’t show it. The Anderson's also have two other children which are Aaron and Hannah who are seven and eight years old and are also in gifted programs at their school. All 3 of the kids excel at different things as Caleb is verbally gifted and can pick up quickly on new languages, Aaron is good with numbers and Hannah is good with puzzles. By: Leslie Lopez The first presidential debate was on Tuesday, September 29th in Cleveland, Ohio at 6:00 pm pacific time. Chris Wallace from FOX News was the debate moderator. The format of the debate was six, fifth-teen minutes segments with two minute responses from both candidates then open discussion for the rest. According to NBC News network the republican candidate is Donald Trump and the democratic candidate is Joe Biden and the first topic of the night was the supreme court. Biden says that Trump is abusing his power by nominating Amy Coney Barrett in an attempt to jam through an appointment. Trump’s response to the question was that he had already won the election and had the right to nominate Ms.Barrett and proceeded to say Ms.Barrett is well respected by everyone that she is the person for the job. Biden believes they should wait to appoint someone because he says that the people have the right to have a choice on who will be appointed when they are voting for senators and presidents, now they can’t have a say since they are in the middle of an election. During the open discussion Biden was talking about expanding Obamacare and Trump would interrupt him claiming that he is incorrect. Not only did Trump interrupt Biden while he was talking he also interrupted the moderator, Mr.Wallace, while he was asking him a question. Once Trump allowed Mr.Wallace to finish the question he said before answering that he is now debating him and no longer Biden since they were having an argument. Trump claims that if Biden expands Obamacare it would end private insurance but Biden's response says differently, he says that Obamacare would only go to those who qualify for medicaid but the majority of Americans would not be in that option. Through the night Trump would interrupt Biden and claim that what he was saying was false. Biden said that he wasn't there to be calling out his lies because people already know that Trump is a liar but then again Trump interrupted him and said that Biden is the Liar there and then proceeded with claiming that Biden graduated last in his class. Biden says that Trump has done nothing in the four years he has been president and that he is all talk and no doing. The second segment was about the corona virus, Biden says that Trump has done nothing to ensure the safety of others when he knew about the virus before it became worse; then Trump interrupted him saying “wrong.” Throughout the whole debate Trump has interrupted Biden about 57 times, one of them involving Biden’s son and calling him a drug addict, and Biden interrupted Trump about 29 times, one of them is him calling Trump the worst president. Trump has personally attacked Biden 12 times and Biden attacked Trump 10 times. The moderator asked Trump to be quiet 24 times and Trump argued with the moderator 25 times. This debate is known as the worst presidential debate ever. The second presidential debate will be on October 15 and the third will be on October 22nd.
